Petal & Root Garden is a small, owner-run regenerative flower farm in Montgomery County, Maryland. We grow field-fresh cut flowers for local CSA farms, market vendors, and florists.
Our approach is simple: grow beautiful flowers in a way that protects the soil, the water, and the land we share.
Six classic summer cut flowers, sown in succession from May into August for a steady, varied harvest from mid-July through mid-October.

images/strawflower.jpgOur flowers grow at Hidden Ridge Farm in Clarksburg, Montgomery County, an established flower farm built over fifteen years. The field is fenced against deer and irrigated by drip, with a high tunnel for early and late crops, a walk-in cooler, and long-established perennial beds.
images/farm.jpgOur first growing season is 2027.
| January–April | Bed preparation, weed-suppressing covers, irrigation setup |
|---|---|
| May–August | Weekly sowings, daily watering and cultivation |
| Mid-July–October | Early-morning harvest for partner farms and buyers |
| November–December | Cleanup, cover crops, and planning for next year |
Growing Harvest
We partner with local vegetable CSAs to add a flower share for their members. We grow, harvest, and bunch the flowers and deliver them to the partner's existing pickup. The partner sets the share structure and price.
Bunches and buckets of fresh, local stems for market vendors and nearby flower farms that need extra volume for events or busy market days.
images/bunches.jpgPetal & Root Garden sells to businesses only. There is no farm stand, u-pick, or public visiting at the growing site.
Flowers are one of life's small, everyday joys. We believe they can be grown in a way that gives back, putting fresh, local blooms into people's hands while leaving the ground healthier than we found it, season after season.

He lives in Boyds, a short drive from the farm.
